The Sesh is the brainchild of Mark Page aka Mak being run throughout the year to give grass roots and emerging local bands a platform.
Humber Street Sesh is the festival that celebrates creativity being known as a festival for the people of Hull by the people of Hull.
This year we are in for a much bigger treat with it running over 2 days (August 3rd and 4th), inviting previous headliners of The Sesh and other creatives that include musicians, artists, dancers, skaters and more.

Here is the latest edition of Behind the Music
Providing insight into what makes musicians tick, in their own words.
In this 11th edition we speak with Bud Fam (Trizzy and Smurkz) from Hull (2017 UK City of Culture), United Kingdom.
Where do you find continued inspiration?
We find continued inspiration from peers who continue to push boundaries lyrically and sonically past AND present, as well as our surroundings/thoughts/feelings and our own personal life experiences.
What do you hope to achieve?
We hope to achieve a career/make a living out of doing something that we’re passionate about as well as create a loyal cult fan base, and eventually branching to make B.U.D F.A.M a brand, a platform and to be the host of events.
What are your struggles?
finding live events and platforms to perform locally as there’s not a lot of venues that host events consistently for upcoming hip hop/grime acts.
Have you achieved what you want?
Not as of yet.
We still feel we’re a long way away from what we fully want to achieve.
We take the process step by step and set ourselves short term goals, so they’re constantly adapting as we aspire to reach each one.
How did you achieve your success?
We haven’t had what others would consider as a major ‘successes’ yet. However,
through the struggles in life we have still managed to build everything from the ground up ourselves
- financing equipment for recording
- teaching ourselves ‘the process’ in terms of learning how to mixdown tracks,
- finding venues to perform at,
- getting radio play and
- generally finding an efficient way of reaching people when releasing music.
Being able to make music in itself we see as a success too.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Everything you need to know about us is covered in our music 😉 check us out.
