Here is the latest edition of Behind the Music
Providing insight into what makes musicians tick, in their own words.
In this sixth edition we get some insight from Michigan’s (USA) very own Devan Brown of Devan Brown Productions.
Where do you find continued inspiration?
Ask a fight inspiration and what’s around me at any given moment in time whether it be my pupils, my parents or just my peers.
There is always something around to give me that idea with that wow factor.
What do you hope to achieve?
I would like to go gold at least one time.
It doesn’t have to be a hit record. However I would really like one of my records to be recognized.
What are your struggles?
I sometimes struggle with mixes.
To me it is easy to put together a good sounding song but I often find it hard to make it sound good.
I have been working on this.
I will continue to work on it until I have mastered it.
Have you achieved what you want?
Every time I achieve a goal, I instantly set another goal for myself.
I never give myself time to fall off to forget anything.
How did you achieve your success?
I achieve success by taking things one step at a time.
I find in life you can’t do everything all at once unless your superman or something so you have to do it one task at a time.
Is there anything else you would like to share?
Yo soy norteamericano.
I’m from a small town in Michigan called Benton Harbor and the one thing I’ve learned is to never give up, never surrender no matter what you’re doing… keep going!
